Isipatana beat Thurstan

Isipatana College produced a fine all round performance to beat their traditional rivals Thurstan College by 48 runs in their annual Twenty20 match worked off at the Thurstan College grounds yesterday.

Isipatana batting first hit up a formidable 152 for 9 from their 20 overs with Dimithri Perera stroking a fluent 45 to win the best batsman's award. Thurstan in reply were shot out for 104 runs with left arm spinner Anusha Samaratunga claiming four wickets for 20. Samaratunga was also named best bowler and man of the match.

Isipatana: 152 for 9 in 20 overs (Dimithri Perera 45, Nilusha Sasanka 38, Dinusha Fernando 23, Sakuntha Premaratne 25, C. Gamage 3 for 23, R. Wijeratne 3 for 16).Thurstan: 104 in 16 overs (J. Siyabalapitiya 23, P. Arthavindu 19, Anusha Samarathunga 4 for 20).
