Elephant tramples forest ranger to death

A wild elephant in Orubedisiyabala wewa in Bakamuna trampled a forest ranger to death when he along with police officers tried to chase the elephant.

U. Gunawardena, 43, attached to the Elahera Forest Range office sought police help when the wild elephant went on a rampage. The animal had given him chase and trampled him to death.
