Etikehelgalle village fully developed under Gama Neguma program

The Government has full potential to develop the villages under Gama
Neguma though certain elements allege that the country's economy has
collapsed, said Presidential Senior Advisor Basil Rajapaksa MP in Mahara.
Rajapaksa was speaking at the opening of Etikehelgalle village in the
Mahara DS Division which was fully developed under the Gama Neguma
program. A village in every DS division is set to be developed under
this program.
He said the Government, having identified the importance of
developing the village, launched the Gama Neguma program which has taken
tremendous efforts to uplift the lives of the rural community. We are
bound to develop the 14,000 GN divisions in Sri Lanka. The President at
the last budget allocated funds for the village development under this
Gama Neguma, he said.
The road network in the Etikehelgalle village was concreted and all
other facilities such as water, electricity provided.
Passenger Transport Minister Lasantha Alagiyawanna and
Parliamentarian Deelip Wijesekera were also present. |
