The Siddhalepa Ayurveda Company in Germany has been recognised by the Wellness Association of Germany. Here Managing Director Chalinda Samarasinghe receives a certificate at the event.

The German Wellness Association, the regulator on health and hygienic matters in Germany has given the green light to promote the Siddhalepa company to operate in Germany and train Germans on this ancient treatment method, said its Managing Director Chalinda Samarasinghe.

At the last ITB 2008, the Siddhalepa company demonstrated the Ayurvedic treatment methods at the ITB main hall, which is considered a rare opportunity for a Sri Lankan company, Samarasinghe said.

Many Germans, doctors and physiotherapists have evinced an interest to visit Sri Lanka to receive training on this ancient treatment method.

The main objective is to attract German tourists to Sri Lanka and also promote Ayurveda treatment and products in Germany and other European Union countries.

The Wellness Association an approved body in Germany will conduct seminars and workshop on Ayurveda treatment methods to educate the German public, he said.

He said this is a tremendous opportunity to promote Sri Lankan products among Germans who visit Sri Lanka especially for Ayurvedic treatment. With the association of the Wellness Centre, the company could access more than 200,000 Germans.

Therefore, they could promote this ancient medicinal concept aggressively, he said.
