Samurdhi bank robbed

A Rs. 500,000 robbery took place at the Samurdhi Bank at Ambavila in
Godakawela by two masked suspects wielding a knife. The suspects
threatened the bank staff with a knife and got away with the cash.
Police spokesman SSP Ranjith Gunasekera said the two suspects arrived
on a motorcycle stormed the Samurdhi Bank near the Warayaya Temple in
Ambavila area and robbed Rs. 500,000.
The robbers fled the area without any trace. Godakawela police is
investigating. |
