People of Wayamba gave:

Massive support to form strong PC

The people of Wayamba gave massive support to form a strong Provincial Council said newly elected Provincial Minister of Health, Indigenous Medicine, Sports and Youth Affairs Asoka Wadigamangawa.

He was speaking after assuming duties at the Provincial Council Ministry Auditorium Conference Hall on March 09.

Wadigamangawa said I will not forget the needs of the people who reposed their faith and confidence in me.

They have given me an opportunity to prove my mettle and soon development projects will be started to provide all amenities and facilities for residents in the Puttalam district as well as Kurunegala district.

Several other new Ministers also addressed the media conference.

Agriculture, Animal Production and Development, Minor Irrigation and Agrarian Development Minister Shantha Bandara said he too would work with dedication to meet the needs of the people in the Province.

He would never forget the people who reposed faith in him.

Social Welfare, Probation and Childcare Minister Neranjan Wickramasinghe assuming office said people living in the North Western Province have given a clear mandate to the Government to strengthen its massive development programs and bring peace to the country.

Wickramasinghe said the UPFA received a sweeping victory in the Kurunegala and Puttalam districts despite a minor incident in Kurunegala district.

Chief Minister and Finance and Planning, Law and Order, Local Government and Provincial Administration, Manpower, Education and Cultural Affairs Minister Athula Wijesinghe said “no one will be able to defeat me till I die. I will do my best for the welfare of two districts.”

He said the people of Sath Korale were always with him and this time also they cast their votes very intelligently considering the welfare of future generation.

Rural Development, Housing and Construction and Fisheries Provincial Minister Arundika Fernando said people have given a landslide victory for the UPFA and we must buckle down to work now.

Former PC Ministers, Members and Chairman Dharmasiri Dasanayake also participated.
