Azerbaijan President happy Lankan conflict coming to an end

Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev said he was happy that the conflict
with the LTTE was coming to an end. This is a big achievement for
President Mahinda Rajapaksa and the people of Sri Lanka, he said.
President Aliyev said so when he met visiting Ambassador of Sri Lanka
Mohammed Zuhair concurrently accredited to Azerbaijan with residence in
Tehran.
The Azerbaijan President hoped with the conflict ending, a new life
for the Tamil people of the North would dawn ending 25 years of
suffering.
"Our two countries," President Aliyev said," could expand trade and
commercial relations and hoped that the two countries would exchange
both official and commercial delegations.
Earlier, Zuhair, briefed the Azerbaijan President on the current
situation of the conflict. He also detailed the opportunities for closer
bilateral ties between the two countries. Azerbaijan President Ilham

Mohammed Zuhair, concurrently accredited to Azerbaijan. |
