Foreign Minister in Vietnam
Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama arrived in Hanoi yesterday on a
two day official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of Deputy Prime
Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, Pham Gia Khiem.
The visit is the first by a Sri Lankan Foreign Minister since the
opening of the Embassy in Vietnam in 2003.
Upon arrival in Hanoi, Minister Bogollagama laid a wreath at the Ho
Chi Minh Mausoleum.
During the official talks between Minister Bogollagama and the
Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, the
two sides noted the current status of excellent bilateral relations
between the two countries.
Both parties agreed to further expand these relations into an
economic partnership through an agreed program of activities.
The two Ministers to enhance bilateral trade agreed to exchange trade
delegations and thereby forge closer links between the corporate sectors
of the two countries. |
