SPUR New Zealand donates flasks for frontline soldiers

SPUR (New Zealand) has donated 138 steel flasks to carry hot drinks for soldiers serving in the front in Mullaitivu.

The 1000 ml stainless steel flasks were bought under a scheme launched by the society to help soldiers serving at the front under extremely dangerous circumstances fighting against all odds in the most difficult terrain.

As a moral booster the steel flasks will have a sticker on them indicating that it is a gift from the Sri Lankans in New Zealand.

The flasks bought at a cost of Rs. 122,130 were donated at a hand over ceremony in Colombo Lt. Col. Ruwan Gunathilaka received them on behalf of the Army.

Mahinda Attanayaka of SPUR NZ and other VIPs with Venerable Bengamuwe Nalaka and Venerable Thalagala Sumanaratana Theras were present at the ceremony. Thawalama Foundation also assisted in this donation. (EOM)
