New Major Generals

Three Brigadiers of the Sri Lanka Army have been promoted to the ranks of Major General with immediate effect.

They are Brigadiers Kamal Gunaratne, Mano Perera and Nandana Udawatta. Brigadier Kamal Gunaratne is the commandant of the 53 Division which is engaged in the humanitarian operation from Puthukuduyiruppu front while Brigadier Nandana Udawatta commands the 59 Division which commenced operation against the terrorists from Welioya.

Brigadier Mano Perera of the 52 Divison is now the Security Forces Commanding Officer for the Western Province.
