President visits historic temple in Nepal

Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa who arrived in Nepal at the invitation of the Nepalese President, paid homage to the Anandakuti Viharaya, the Centre of Theravada Buddhism in Nepal.

Viharadhipathi Ven. Kumara Kasyapa Thera welcoming President Rajapaksa presented him a Buddha statue.

The President is due to meet Nepalese Premier, Pushpakamal Dahal and discuss matters of mutual interest to the two countries such as direct flights, expansion of tourist activities.

The President is also due to meet Nepalese Vice President, Opposition Leader, Girija Koirala and the SAARC Secretary General as well.
