JVP condemns Lahore attack

The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) has condemned the terrorist attack which targeted the Sri Lankan Cricket Team causing injuries to a number of cricketers. Several Pakistani Policemen as well as members of the public have also been killed, it is reported.

"The attack is proof of the inborn savagery of terrorism operative in whichever the part of the globe. Terrorists are naturally hellbent on launching similar attacks. A number of similar attacks took place in the Asian region recently.

"We unreservedly reject any attempts at coupling political or other matters with sports.

"We wish all wounded sportsmen a speedy recovery.

"We hope Pakistani authorities will launch a full investigation into the incident and expose the culprits to the world," a press release said.
