Cricket fans shocked

Cricket fans throughout the country reacted with sadness and anger over the attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore yesterday morning.

Most fans felt upset expressing feelings for the cricketers who had travelled to Pakistan.

Mahes (25), a cricket fan said: "I'm truly moved and very sad that our cricketers have been shot at. As a cricket fan I condemn the attack in the strongest possible way. I love the game of cricket so much and our cricketers. If I could, I would even travel to Pakistan to be near them."

Nandana (35) said: "It is the cream of cricket from our country that had gone to Pakistan. They being attacked is very saddenning."

Shanaka Perera (20) said: "When I first heard of the attack from a friend I thought it was a joke. But when I realized it was not a joke it shocked me. About six of our top cricketers have been injured and my prayers and wish is that they would recover fast."

Dinusha Udayanga (21) said: He could not understand why terrorism was spreading its wings to sports."

Susil Bombuwalage (24) also said he was shocked when he heard about the attack.
