Russia hopes crisis brings international Co-operation

RUSSIA: Russia hopes the global economic crisis brings about favorable conditions for international cooperation in terms of security, setting eyes on the European safeguarding pact.

The foreign policy advisor for the Kremlin chief Serguei Prijodko told media the current situation is more favorable and in this moment the importance of transparency in multilateral collaboration grows.

He said that in this scene of world economic crisis the states, including Russiaƒ?(tm)s partners, were forced to reorganize the plans of military construction and financing of their Armed Forces.

In his opinion, the current situation gives new possibilities to work in the design of a joint agreement on European security, demanded by Moscow several years ago.

Russia promotes among other basic principles of the joint agreement of European security respect to sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence of the states, Prijodko emphasized.
