Wijesinghe wins men’s open event

The Carlton Super Sports organised by the Thaarunyata Hetak
Foundation commenced yesterday at the Ceylon Autodrome.
The events conducted by Mountain Biking Association attracted over
500 competitors from various age categories. Special feature of the day
was the biggest participation of riders from the Southern Province’s
schools.
G. Wijesinghe won the men’s open event after a hectic battle coming
from the runner-up P. Jayalal.
H. L. P. K. Gunatilleke was the winner of the women’s open event with
L. P. M. Gayathri and H. P. A. S. Gunetilleke taking the runners-up
positions.
