Saleem completes 1,000 runs

Thomian opener Fahim Saleem completed 1,000 runs for the season in their inter-school cricket match against Prince of Wales which began at Mount Lavinia yesterday. The Thomians batting first scored 177 in 81 overs, helped by two good knocks by Fahim Saleem (47) and skipper R. Nirushan (41). The Cambrians in reply were 35 for 3 at close.

S. Thomas 177 in 81 overs (F. Saleem 47, R. Nirushan 42, L. Peiris 29, P. Dilshan 2 for 32, B. de Alwis 3 for 36).

Prince of Wales 35 for 3 in 16 overs (S. Dhammalage 21).
