Three year old Vibhasith Athapaththu, of Angoda is suffering from Leukemia (Relapsed Acute Myeloblastic Leukemia, M2). His condition was first diagnosed and treated in November 2006.

According to Consultant Paediatric Oncologist Dr. Damayanthi C . Peiris the treatment to cure his condition includes a bone marrow transplantation which has to be performed in a hospital abroad.

Vibhasith is undergoing chemotherapy treatment at a hospital in Vellore, India in preparation to a bone marrow transplant. The hospital charges will be Rs.2.5 million and the cost for the whole process is expected to be around Rs.5.8million. The parents appeal donors to help them with financial assistance to cure their son.
