Grama Niladharis perturbed

Grama Niladharis are perturbed over a proposal to absorb officers from other services into their service.

They say that recruitment to the Grama Niladhari service is through a transparent procedure which includes calling applications through a Gazette notification and selecting the recruits through a written examination and a structured viva voce. Such absorption would create an excess of staff over the approved cadre and lower the quality of service, the Sri Lanka Eksath Grama Niladhari Sangamaya alleges.
