New SEC chairman

Udayasiri Kariyaw- asam will assumes duties today as the new Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) .

Udayasri Kariyawasam is currently chairman of the Insurance Board of Sri Lanka (IBSL). Former chairman SEC Gamini Wickremasinghe stepped down on Friday at the end of his three-year term. Kariyawasam served earlier as Chairman, Bank of Ceylon and also chairman of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB).
