Ambrose relishing renewed test chance
Reserve England wicketkeeper Tim Ambrose is now guaranteed to feature
in the fourth Test against West Indies, starting on Thursday at
Kensington Oval here.
This follows Matt Prior's return home, after his wife Emily gave
birth to a boy, their first child, early on Monday..Fortunately for
England, Ambrose will be a straight swap for Prior, leaving the
selectors only the headache of deciding who fills the place left vacant
by Andrew Flintoff's injury.
"It's another chance to help win a game for England," the 26-year-old
Ambrose told reporters.
"This is what we are here to do. We have got to win the series. We
are 0-1 behind and we need to win this Test to get back into the series,
so it is a chance to contribute."
England trail 0-1 in the series, after an innings and 23-run defeat
in the opening Test at Sabina Park in Jamaica, where they were rolled
over for their third-lowest total of 51 in their second innings.
