Court calls for full report on Tiger attack

Colombo Fort Magistrate and Additional District Judge Gihan Pilapitiya who visited the scene at the Inland Revenue Department building immediately after the incident on Friday night directed the Slave Island Police to forward a comprehensive report in connection with the incident to court on the next date.

OIC Slave Island Police filing a report to court yesterday stated that the LTTE suicide bomber who attacked the Inland Revenue Building had damaged several buildings around the area including the bank which is situated near the Inland Revenue Department.

The report also stated that 36 persons were injured following the LTTE suicide attack and two persons were killed.

Meanwhile, the Negombo Chief Magistrate and Additional District Judge Jayaki de Alwis visited the scene where the second LTTE aircraft was shot down in Katunayake area and made her observations and directed the Negombo Police to submit a comprehensive report in connection with their investigations to court on the next date.

The case will be called again in court on February 27.
