Book Review:
A storm in the spring
****
Book: Wasantha Maruthaya
Author: Kumuduni Iddamalgoda
****
The story 'Wasantha Maruthaya' (A storm in the summer) written by
Kumuduni Iddamalgoda unfolds an extraordinary story mingled with mystery
and romance.
It's woven around the eeri and appalling incidents experienced by
young inmates at their school hostel which is haunted. The awful
situations they encounter with dreadful apparitions set the whole plot
in motion making chills run down the spine as one reads it.
The poping up love affair of the protagonist at the same time adds
colour to the story soothing the mind of the horror stricken reader
providing pleasurable emotions blend with passion of a sensational
teenage zone affair in their youthful exuberance of life.
It's a story of a rare calibre not to be missed by adventure lovers
and can be read at a stretch as it arouses curiosity of the reader
providing a lot of excitement from the beginning to the end.
Kumuduni Iddamalgoda has authored many books such as 'The expansion
of the cooperative and its productivity' and 'small wonders I' and
'small wonders II', exclusively for children, all educational
publications and 'Wasantha Maruthaya' is the first novel penned by her.
She is the directress of Kuchali pre school, Attidiya.
