Former IGP launches book

"Police Decision in Action" authored by former Inspector General of Police Dr. Frank de Silva, in collaboration with Stamford Lake (Pvt) Limited will be launched on Thursday at 4.45 p.m. at the Gamini Dissanayake Auditorium, Mahaweli Centre, Ananda Coomaraswamy Mawatha, Colombo 7.

The Keynote address will be delivered by former Attorney General, President's Counsel C. R. de Silva.

Dr. Frank de Silva holds a BA (Hons) from the University of Ceylon, LL.B. from the University of Colombo and Ph.D from the University of Jayewardenepura.

He served in the Police Department for 40 years and is a graduate from the Staff College, Bramshill UK. He served as expert from Asia on the United Nations Committee of Experts on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice.

Dr. Frank de Silva was a member of the Presidential Commission of Law and Order in 2004. He had served on several other Committees inquiring into related aspects as Alcohol Abuse and the UNDP on Drug Abuse.
