The current economic situation has had an impact on sales with the global scenario. “However, with the domestic economy set to improve in the coming months with the progress made in the North we are confident that Apartment sales would increase significantly,” said Deputy General Manager Havelock City Project, M. Remaz Ghouse.

“The main contractor is of Chinese origin and they have their own workforce to ensure quality and speed of construction.”

The Havelock City project with an investment of US$ 250 million provides luxurious apartments to local and foreign residents. It also has offices and business premises making it a city within a city.

“The majority of buyers are local customers and 60 per cent of houses under the first phase has been sold. There are also local overseas buyers from UK, USA and European countries.

The project is fast reaching completion and we expect the handover to take place within the next few months. We hope this project would be excellent competition in Sri Lanka’s city project developments,” he said.

The project will offer an area of 1,080 square feet with one, two, three and four bedroomed apartments including spacious penthouses with underground car parking facilities. The large garden spread over the rooftop of the car park is the first of its kind. The car park garden covers approximately nine acres and have large trees and foliage promoting the concept of a natural rainforest.

Havelock City was awarded a prestigious five-star award for the ‘Best Development in Sri Lanka’ and a four-star award for the ‘Best High Rise Development in Sri Lanka’ at the Asia Pacific Property Awards 2008, held in association with CNBC networks worldwide.

The awards are accolades of global repute presented in recognition of quality, design, construction and architecture of individual properties and property developments. They are also an acknowledgement of the expertise and professionalism of the developer.

The project is a reward of a central location in a friendly neighbourhood environment. Citizens are provided with an easy going lifestyle in the heart of the city of Colombo.

The Havelock City project is the single largest mixed-use real estate development project to be undertaken in Sri Lanka.
