Jaleel (7/97) wrecks Vidyartha

Right arm off spinner and skipper Rushan Jaleel took 7 for 97 runs
for Trinity College as they dismissed Vidyartha College for 192 runs on
the first day of their inter-school cricket match which began at the
Asgiriya Stadium in Kandy yesterday. At close Trinity had replied with
144 for 4.
The strip at Asgiriya once again helped the spinners as it had been
doing this season. Rushan Jaleel has now captured 81 wickets this season
and looks set to reach the coveted 100 wickets before the end of this
match.
For Vidyartha K. Wijekoon top scored with 64 which had 9 hits to the
ropes. When Trinity batted opener Kithmal Wimalaweera batted with
aggression to score 81 which had 11 fours and 2 sixes and helped Trinity
to reach 144 for 4 at close.
Vidyartha College 192 all out in 62.3 overs (C. Wijekoon 22, K.
Weerakoon 64, U. Wijesinghe 35, S. Abeyratne 16, Rushan Jaleel 7 for 97,
Suresh Wickrema 2 for 35).
