Muslim voters for UPFA - Azwer
There is a clear indication that the Muslim voters are going to vote
for the UPFA in the Central and North Western Provincial elections,
Presidential Advisor and former Minister A.H.M. Azwer said.
He was addressing several meetings in Dewahuwa, Galewela, Bulnewa,
Anathagama. Matale town and several other places in the Matale district
in support of the UPFA candidates contesting the forthcoming Provincial
Council Elections.
There is evidently a change in the political thinking of the Muslims
largely in the rural areas. The Muslim Chinthanaya is now synchronised
with the Mahinda Chintanaya, he said.
“President Mahinda Rajapaksa is giving the Sri Lankans peace,
prosperity and progress. World history on wars and war strategies will
have to be re-written in this 21st Century consequent to the
humanitarian mission carried on in the North by the Head of Sri Lankan
State,” he said .
After educating the Muslim population, the stand taken by President
Mahinda Rajapaksa on Muslim issues and on International Islamic issues,
the Muslims have now gradually shifted their alliance towards the Sri
Lanka Freedom Party.
They could never forget the great service rendered by Badiudeen
Mahumud in bringing about a great renaissance in the educational field.
A large number of prominent UNPers are now contesting under the betel
symbol in the two Provincial Council elections. All Muslim leaders have
now joined hands with President Rajapaksa leaving behind the blindfold
policies of Ranil Wickremesinghe, he said. |
