There is a shortage of drugs at the Menikhinna Government hospital in
Kundasale. Outdoor patients are inconvenienced as a result.
Over 300 outdoor patients visit the hospital daily.

The Criminal Investigations Department has sought public help to nab
Muditha Anuruddha Sarath Weerasinghe wanted for a large scale diamond
robbery.

Seemamalakaya opening tomorrow
A newly built Seemamalakaya and a two storeyed library building at
the Bodhiyandeniya Sri Poorvarama Maha Viharaya at Aluthgama,
Kalagedihena will be opened tomorrow.
Religious Affairs Minister Pandu Bandaranayake and Sri Dalada
Maligawa Diyawadana Nilame Pradeep Nilanga Dela Bandara will be the
chief guests.
A public meeting will follow presided by Ven. Welamitiyawe
Kusaladhamma Chief Sanghanayake Thera of Colombo and Chilaw districts

Special poojas will take place for God Nagarajah at the All Ceylon
Anantha Iyappa Devasthanam Aluth Mawatha on Monday at 9 a.m.
This day is special as his birth star Ayiliya falls on the day.
This pooja takes place every month on the day of the star ‘Ayiliya’s.
These poojas completely follow the Kerala system.
Daham Pasal final exam
The Daham Pasal final examination in English and Sinhala medium will
be held on February 21 and 22 in 502 centres throughout 127 towns.
Around 65,900 candidates have been post with their admission cards
made available through the schools, Ministry sources said.
Special address to Sai devotees
The International Chairman of Prashanthi Council and Sri Sathya Sai
World Foundation Dr. Michael Goldstein will visit Sri Lanka as a part of
his worldwide tour to visit Sai organisations in various countries.
He will meet the Sai devotees in Sri Lanka and will deliver a special
address on February 19 at 5.30 p.m. at the Sai Mandir, Barnes Place.

The 61st Annual General Meeting of the Sri Lanka Cancer Society will

Fresh milk for children
The National programme of providing a glass of locally produced fresh
milk to the country’s child population will be launched at a ceremony at

chief guests.
This programme coinciding with the 2009 Gama Neguma project of the
Nation Building and Estate Infrastructure Development Ministry is aimed

The Wayamba Handa Radio Service will be launched at a ceremony at its
headquarters at Nissanka Mawatha, Negombo Road, Kurunegala today at 10
a.m., SLBC Chairman Hudson Samarasinghe said in a press release.
Lecture on Samanalawewa reservoir
Engineer Dr. Kamal Laksiri, Project Director of Broaland Hydropower
Project of the Ceylon Electricity Board will speak on ‘Can the leakage
in Samanalawewa Reservoir be stopped?’ at a lecture on February 11 at
5.15 p.m. at the IESL Auditorium 120/15, Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo 7.
The lecture is jointly organised by the Institution of Engineers, Sri
Lanka and Sri Lankan Geo Technical Society.
