Central, Wayamba Provinces get 50 new buses

Transport Minister Dullas Allahapperuma has provided 50 new buses to the existing fleet in Central and Wayamba Provinces.

”The 50 new buses imported from India were handed over to Regional Managers of Kandy, Nuwaraeliya and Wayamba Regional Offices yesterday at the Udahamulla Depot,” a Transport Ministry spokesman told the Daily News.

Road Passenger Transport Minister Lasantha Alagiyawanna said the Government is fully committed to improve public passenger transport service in the country as well as at regional level.

The Government will take all possible steps to address major needs of the people while eliminating terrorism.

“We will not reduce funds allocated for the improvement of the public passenger transport,” he said.
