Germany provides Rs. 150 million for humanitarian needs

The German Federal Foreign Office will provide Sri Lanka Rs. 150 million through ICRC’s Humanitarian Aid Program, German Embassy said.

The decision was taken to support the humanitarian needs in the North and follows the funding to the World Food Program in January of two million Euros.

“Our intention is to support ICRC’s concerted efforts to ensure the uninterrupted and pressing humanitarian activities, mainly in the fields of assistance and protection.

It is a clear sign of our continued and firm support to ICRC’s presence and work in Sri Lanka,” a spokesperson for the German Embassy said.
