President at Deyata Kirula:

Our dreams will come true

People can witness here the measures we have taken to make the Nation's future prosperous, President Mahinda Rajapaksa said opening the Deyata Kirula Exhibition at the BMICH yesterday evening.

The theme of the exhibition - Children of the Same Mother- shows our vision and we should preserve the fraternity of the different nationalities who have joined hands here.

During the past three years, we have been able to reach self-sufficiency in rice and achieved a growth rate exceeding five per cent for three consecutive years, the President said. "A large number of projects including the power plant in Norochcholai and Upper Kothmale, the Moragahakanda Reservoir, Hambantota Port and the Weerawila Airport are under construction.

The total value of these projects exceeds trillion rupees.

Very soon we will put into orbit a communication satellite of our own.

We are confident all our dreams would come true," the President added.
