Cey Nor Foundation has undertaken this contract. Chairman, Cey Nor
Foundation, Rohan Jayasinghe said that they met several buyers at the
recently concluded Boat Show in Colombo and sealed the orders. “The
first floating portable jetty order will be delivered to a Kerala hotel
next month, “ he said. The total value of the first consignment was Rs.
4 million,” he said.
He said the Indian investor in the leisure sector would use this
Jetty to transport passengers from the Kerala River to his hotel. “The
Jetty can accommodate over 40 passengers or could take an equivalent
load of cargo across the river. It also comes with a canopy mounted on
stainless steel rods which can be folded,” he said.
The construction has been carved out from Fiberglass and one of the
main features is that the entire technology was from Cey Nor engineers.
“It takes only two weeks to manufacture these piers,” he said. In
addition to the Indian order, Cey Nor is also negotiating with Norwegian
investors to conform an order worth over Rs. 6 million.
“We are now negotiating on the style of the portable jetty and once
it is complete we would start the manufacturing process,” he said.
This product could also be used in Sri Lanka rivers and lakes to
transport cargo as well as passengers. “It can also be converted as a
desk to host events on water,” he said.
Cey Nor Foundation is also planning to open its first overseas
factory in Bangladesh with a private partnership by the end of the year.
“This is mainly to manufacture fishing nets and boats for the
Bangladesh market,” he said.
