Siddhalepa rated ‘Gold in Corporate Accountability’
Siddhalepa has excelled in all key attributes of Corporate
Accountability to merit gold status in the country’s first “Report Card”
presented by LMD - Sri Lanka’s leading business magazine.
“We are delighted to have been selected for “gold status” in this
bench-marking exercise undertaken by Sting Consultants to provide a
rating that reflect the holistic nature of companies’ accountability
status,” a media release from the company said.
The evaluation was done on seven major attributors namely corporate
values, identifying risks and opportunities, Policy coverage,
stakeholder engagement, management and measurement, workplace practices
and public disclosure.
The rating system is designed on assessing the performance of
individual business and its commitment to implement processes and
systems through a strategic operation model.
The corporate values of Siddhalepa included continuous innovation,
adherence to cultural values and strong commitment to customer
satisfaction.
Siddhalepa has moved seamlessly into a modern health and wellness
business keeping the centuries old system of medicine intact and is
confident that this can be sustained for future generation as well. One
of the key areas of focus for Siddhalepa in the sphere of Corporate
Accountability is its own version of sustainability one with a Sri
Lankan flavour.
In identifying the opportunities, Siddhalepa was the pioneer in
manufacturing and marketing natural and Ayurvedic preparations on
commercial scale dating back to early 1970s.
Siddhalepa has reached every temple and school in the island through
its CSR and environment protection policies, which have been an integral
part of the Siddhalepa ethos.
Its dental clinics conducted at various schools in rural areas and
herbal garden projects have been highly commended by the public.
Siddhalepa CSR has been an example for other business organisations too.
Siddhalepa has been maintaining a strong relationship with its
stakeholders and provides management training and hands on experience to
an islandwide network of retailers and wholesalers to improve their
performance.
It supports growers who supply raw materials for its products and
sees to it that only environmentally and socially acceptable materials
are used in the manufacturing process.
This ranking is a very good platform for Siddhalepa to exhibit its
concern for customers. Since 1978, to strengthen the relationship with
the end users Siddhalepa has been carrying out regular welfare programs
and consumer research at Sripada.
The company provides free meals, housing loans, medical and insurance
facilities to its staff and contributes to their family needs, the
release said.
