Rally round the UPFA

“The whole nation and its people have accepted that the most talented and accredited leader of the country is none other than President Mahinda Rajapaksa, and even the Opposition leader Ranil Wickremesinghe appears to accept this position and went to the extent of applauding his deeds.”

So said the former Education Minister of the Central Provincial Council, when he addressed a series of election meetings in support of his candidature and that of the UPFA. Arulsamy went on to predict the UPFA’s resounding victory in the forthcoming Central Provincial elections, and requested the entire plantation workers to rally round President Mahinda Rajapaksa and his Government in supporting it, since it tends to govern this country in the future for many years.

The former CPC Minister elaborated at length the vast strides of development perspectives in the plantation sector in the larger interest of the estate workers, with special emphasis on their education, of their children, health and other allied matters.

He said that with the Mahinda Chintana, an appreciable attainment had been achieved in the sphere of education, in addition, a good number of plantation children were able to enter the Universities and other Institutions of higher education.

Arulsamy said that he could vouch to these facts since he was the Minister of Education.

He said the whole educational system was given new vistas, where nearly 3,000 plantation children were appointed to the estate schools, and such programs are ongoing ones in the plantation sector.
