Dhamma a must in society
The existence of Dhamma schools is very important to a society, as
they help to cultivate young minds by teaching them the philosophies
contributing to spiritual development, Matale district Chief sangha
nayaka Ven. Vehigala Hemaloka thera said at the annual prize-giving day
at the Sugathodaya Dhamma school at Ihala Yatavara, Waththegama.
It is very important to know that wealth has not brought happiness to
a large number of people in this society, the Mahanayaka thera added.
Young ones should be educated not only to help them earn a living
when they become adults, but they should be educated to help them have
perfect personality in them so that they will be able to live with great
personal satisfaction, the Nayaka Thera said.
At present, most people's philosophy is that they should enjoy
themselves today and not worry about tomorrow, Ven. Hemaloka Thera said.
This kind of philosophy have a great impact on the deterioration of
valuable cultural concepts in society and as a result a lot of people
live without happiness although they have enough money to utilize for
their comfort.
Only 'Dhamma' is able to bring people happiness, not wealth as it is
thought, Hemaloka Thera added. |
