'Plantation workers should vote for UPFA'
Minister of Youth Empowerment and Socio-Economic Development and the
General Secretary of Ceylon Workers Congress Arumugan Thondaman MP
addressing the election meeting organized by him in the Norwood open
play ground on Sunday said that President Mahinda Rajapaksa's Government
is rendering a great service to the plantation sector workers who are
toiling.
He has deep affection for the upcountry masses without any ethnic
discrimination and treats all people equally.
We must support him to execute the tasks in the future by voting for
the UPFA. He called upon the upcountry masses to strengthen the hands of
the President in order to achieve the objectives of the plantation
people.
He said that the CWC as the first and the foremost trade union of the
plantation sector was dedicated to uplift the living conditions of
plantation workers and for the betterment of the lives of the youth in
the underprivileged community. So that they could live with dignity and
equal rights in the country.
The immense contribution made by the plantation workers to the
economy of the country is appreciated by the President, he said. |
