Deyata Kirula Feb 4 to 8

The Government said yesterday that all arrangements were in place, to hold the third 'Deyata Kirula' exhibition at the BMICH from February, 4 to 8 under the theme of "Eka Mawakage Daru Kela".

Addressing the media, Deputy Minister for Finance and State Revenue Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said yesterday, that the event would be flagged off by President Mahinda Rajapaksa in the afternoon of the Independence Day (February 4).

The event would be open for the public from 6 p.m. to 12 midnight on the opening day and from 09 am to 12 midnight during the other days.

He also added that the main exhibits would portray the importance of propagating harmony among diverse ethnic communities in Sri Lanka in line with the events main theme..

According to the Minister 'Deyata Kirula' has four categories with the first day been named as security day, the second day as cultural day, the third day as welfare day and the fourth day has been named as media day.

He also added that the spectators, officers and exhibitors will be insured with a maximum limit of Rs. 1 million by National Insurance Funds During the Deyata Kirula exhibition.

The entry tickets have been priced at Rs. 20 and they will be issued by the National Lottery Board

According to SSP Ilangakoon, security is to be strenthened with all three Armed Forces helping the Police with BMICH and surroundings being declared a high security zone from February 1 to 8 until the end of the exhibition.

SSP Ilangakoon noted that the security measures will be carried out in four stages, the first and second have been completed so far and the third and fourth will be carried out during the exhibition period.

The vehicles with entry passes and the vehicles of exhibitors will be permitted to enter the BMICH premises after a thorough search. No public vehicles will be permitted in to this area from February 01 until the end of the exhibition.

The area from the Gregorys road to Wijerama Mawatha, Maitland Place to Vidya Mawatha, Public Administration Ministry to Bullers road, Bullers lane to Bullers road, Torington to Bullers road, Malalasekara Mawatha to Sarana road junction will be closed for public transportation.

Cinnmmon Garden Police are issuing special passes to the residents of this area Meanwhile, special buses will be deployed free of charge from Viharamahadevi park to the site for the benefit of those who come from other provinces.
