Bens favoured in today's game

The last quarter final of the schools segment of the Old Bens Sports Clubs organised Golden Jubilee Soccer Championship between St. Benedict's College and St. Joseph's College will be played today at the SBC grounds, Kotahena. The kick off is scheduled for 3.45 p.m.

The Bens came out for this game as hot favourites to beat their arch rivals on the field Joes. Bens with good set of players are in peak form after competing in a tough tournament few weeks ago at the Sugathadasa Stadium. This has given them the most wanted experience to face this tourney. Their custodian will an asset for the side as he looks as the best goal keeper at school level.

On the other side Joes though considered as underdogs may pose a big threat to the Bens in this game. The only hindrance for them is the lack of match experience this season. This is the first time they came out as a team to confront a team with best players.

Damien Fernando a top class soccerite produced by the Kotahena school who went on to represent the country will be the chief guest for today's game, whilst Pinto Fernando will be the guest of honour.
