Three nabbed for robbery

The Panadura police arrested three young men who allegedly robbed a house in Thalavaththa, Peradeniya last December, according to a report from Peradeniya police.

The three from Davulagala, Kadugannaava and Kegalle had arrived in Thalavaththa and entered a house, threatened a woman in it and stole money, a mobile phone and jewellery.

The police had received a complaint to that effect from a resident of the house.

Police seized two mobile telephones worth about Rs. 12,000 and jewellery worth about Rs.50,000 which were with the three young men.
