Three remanded in salt racket

Panadura Magistrate Thusara Rajasinghe remanded three persons including an ex cooperative manager in connection with a theft of 11,900 packets of salt valued at Rs. 80,000 from the Panadura MPCS.

Police made the arrest while the suspects were transporting the stock of salt in a van along the Horana Road. Inspector Udayakumara OIC with S.I. Siriwardena of Panadura Police conducted the investigations. Meanwhile, the Panadura Police arrested three suspects who kidnapped a girl employed in a garment.

The suspects were arrested while performing a Pooja to charm the girl to win her heart for one of the suspects.
