Erratum & Addendum re:

Ballales & Bulankulames

The forty mile distance between the hamlets of Ballale and Nuwara Kalaviya which were the original settlements of the Ballales and Bulankulames was connected by the family tie when P.B.Bulankulame Disawa's sister Palmawathie's daughter Esme was given in marriage to R.B.Ballale who had kept wickets at Trinity when Percy Maralanda, considered the Lion of Lions, was captain in 1920, '21 and '22 - 13 wins, 01 draw, 01 loss.

Of RB's sons, Percy kept wickets in 1953 and '54 and brother Tissa followed suit quickly thereafter. Percy's son, Mevan was awarded the Trinity cricket Lion in his second year of keeping wickets in 1986. Tissa's son, Thusitha kept wickets for Trinity in 1987, '88, '89 and '90.
