Tiger arms, ammo recovered

The STF ambushed an LTTE movement and killed a Tiger cadre. In a subsequent search operation, the STF recovered arms and ammunition in Radella, Pottuvil last morning.

Military Spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara said on information that a gang of LTTE cadres had infiltrated the area the STF had ambushed the terrorists. A T56 assault riffle, an I-com set and 30 rounds of ammunition were recovered, he said.

STF personnel are combing the jungle area in search of absconding LTTE cadres.
