'Zonta Woman of Tomorrow'

The Zonta Club III of Colombo will launch a Mentorship Programme 'Zonta Woman of Tomorrow' (ZWOT) to enhance and develop the employability and professional skills of young Sri Lankan women.

ZWOT has selected 15 undergraduate female students with proven leadership abilities, in various disciplines of study, who will be groomed under the program to take on the job market with confidence and zest.

The selected candidates will be guided and mentored by some of Sri Lanka's top corporate professionals who will guide and coach them for one year at no cost.

The Mentees will be guided and taught on how to develop their interpersonal skills, professional etiquette, requirements to climb the corporate ladder, given opportunities to build and develop networks on building their image to meet the challenges of the business world.

The Mentorship Program would be a boon to young female university students who are often at a disadvantage due to their lack of knowledge on how to approach the job market.

The ZWOT program would enable some of Sri Lanka's top professionals to impart their knowledge and experience to the younger generation.

The program which commences this month will include important features such as a Career Guidance Workshop conducted by the head of HR at McLarens, Chiranthi Cooray Paranamanage, and a leadership training program to enhance and inculcate mentees' team spirit.

Throughout the year, the mentees will take part in various activities that are intended to enhance their employability and professional skills. (HS)
