Eastern Province gets 26 new buses

The Government has provided 26 new buses for six depots in the Eastern Province.

A passenger transport service in the Eastern Province has been streamlined by the Government after the entire province was liberated by the Armed Forces, Sri Lanka Transport Board Chief Operations Superintendent. N.K.A.W Gunawardhana told the Daily News. He said the service was started to fulfill transport requirements of people who have undergone hardships due to LTTE terrorism for the past 20 years.

The Mannar depot operates buses on 34 routes while buses have been added to 19 routes by the Vavuniya depot. The transport system has been strengthened in Jaffna and the Jaffna depot operates buses on 50 routes.
