Over Rs 4m for irrigation

The Agrarian Services Department has renovated and developed dilapidated minor tanks, anicuts and irrigation canals in the Monaragala District at a cost of Rs. 4,563,956, said K.G. Lanerolle, Asst. Commissioner of Agrarian Services, Monaragala District.

He said Nelumwewa, Domba Mawela Wewa, Muthukeliya Wewa, Tennayaya anicut, Moragahamada anicut, Wediyaya anicut, Kuda Oya anicut, Galamuna anicut, Karapeenchayaya canal and Helaweleyaya canal are those tanks' anicuts and irrigation canals that were renovated and developed.
