Catholic leaders condemn Lasantha killing

Catholic Bishops' Conference and the Catholic National Commission for Justice, Peace and Human Development yesterday condemned the killing of Sunday Leader Editor Lasantha Wickrematunga and called for an end to the escalation of violence and intimidation against the media.

They appealed to the Government to conduct an immediate and impartial inquiry into these incidents.
