Jeevantha and Roshane help Colts recover

Dynamic all rounder Jeevantha Kulatunga and middle order batsman Roshane Silva scored unbeaten centuries to help Colts CC recover from an early setback to reach 270 for 4 in their first innings on the opening day of their SLC Premier League Tier A tournament match against Ragama CC which began at Havelock Park yesterday.

Kulatunga struck an unbeaten 130 from just 115 deliveries inclusive of three sixes and 18 boundaries while Silva remained unbeaten on 109 which was studded with one six and 16 boundaries.

The pair have so far put on 238 runs for the unfinished fifth wicket after Colts CC had slumped to 32 for 4 at one stage.

Colts CC: 270 for 4 (J. Kulatunga 130 n.o., R. Silva 109 n.o., K. Weeraratne 2 for 73, D. Gamage 2 for 59) v Ragama CC.

Zoysa takes 4 for 59

Former Sri Lanka opening bowler Nuwan Zoysa snapped up four wickets for 58 to help the defending champions SSC dismiss CCC for 201 runs in their first innings on the opening day of their SLC Premier League Tier A tournament match which began at Maitland Place yesterday.

CCC: 201 (D. K. Ranaweera 36, N. Randhika 52, S. de Silva 47, N. Zoysa 4 for 58, S. Karunanayake 3 for 41, S. Senanayake 2 for 32).

SSC: 12 for no loss.

Chilaw Marians pile up 252 for 8

Two good half centuries from Nimesh Perera (79) and all rounder Gayan Wijekoon (50) helped Chilaw Marians SC reach 252 for 8 in their first innings on the opening day of their SLC Premier League Tier A tournament match against NCC which began at Maitland Place yesterday.

Chilaw Marians SC: 252 for 8 (N. Perera 79, G. Wijekoon 50, R. Silva 20, M. Gajanayake 2 for 30, R. Subasinghe 3 for 37) v NCC.

Superb century by Gihan

Middle order batsman Gihan Rupasinghe hammered a splendid 105 not out to guide Tamil Union to 215 for 4 in their first innings on the opening day of their SLC Premier League Tier A tournament match against Moors SC which began at the P. Saravanamuttu Stadium yesterday.

Tamil Union: 215 for 4 (S. Serasinghe 70, G. Rupasinghe 105 n.o., D. Lokuhettige 2 for 59) v Moors SC.

Baduraliya well placed

Baduraliya CC were well placed at 129 for 1 in reply to Sri Lanka Army SC’s first innings total of 140 on the opening day of their SLC Premier League Tier A tournament match which began at the R. Premadasa Stadium yesterday.

Army SC: 140 (A. Nanayakkara 59, A. Prasad 3 for 59, D. Arnolda 2 for 25, N. Bandaratilleke 4 for 16).

Baduraliya CC: 129 for 1 (D. Vitharana 84 n.o, C. Vithanage 35).

Singha SC bundled out for 155

Asela Karunaratne captured five wickets for 44 to help Sri Lanka Air Force SC dismiss Singha SC Ambalangoda for 155 runs in their first innings on the opening day of their SLC Premier League Tier B tournament match which began at Rifle Green yesterday.

Singha SC: 155 (T. Madanayake 32, S. Vithana 52, M. Ranasinghe 28, A. Karunaratne 5 for 44, S. Madanayake 2 for 24, A. Rizan 2 for 6).

Air Force SC: 61 for 3 (A. Eranga 25, N. Liyanage 2 for 20).
