SLPA commemorates Kilinochchi victory
A special function was organised at Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA)
to commemorate the Kilinochchi capture by the soldiers yesterday.
A two minute silence was observed following the hoisting of National
Flag and the National Anthem to pay tribute to all three Forces war
heroes who contributed towards this landmark victory.
Port Development Minister Dilan Perera said this landmark victory
should never be considered as a narrow achievement and it should be
considered as a great achievement that defeats, terrorism and separatism
at the same time.
“Employees of all Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim ethnicities at the SLPA
should celebrate this victory together as a collective achievement
gained, to defeat terrorism,” he said.
He added that peace we would soon be a reality in Sri Lanka and offer
much strength to SLPA to face its future challenges more courageously
and successfully. |
