Innovative public service top priority - Minister Amunugama

Restoring civil administration in the North and East proper
coordination of village level development activities and introduction of
innovative methods for modernisation of the public services are among
his top priorities, Public Administration and Home Affairs Minister Dr.
Sarath Amunugama said.
Minister Dr. Amunugama said the integration to his former ministry
interestingly coincided with the integration of the North and East.
The Minister addressing staff after assuming duties as Public
Administration and Home Affairs Minister said his primary challenge was
ensuring the integration of all territory in the country in accordance
with the country’s constitution following the victory of the security
forces.
Commenting on the massive funds allocated for rural development, he
said it was hundred fold more than previous allocations. Rs. 200 million
has been allocated for this purpose.
His aim is to introduce information technology will play a vital role
in this regard more than what was set apart by previous Government, Dr.
Amunugama said.
He appealed to the Ministry staff to give their utmost support to
overcome the challenges of the New Year. |
