Two killed in claymore blast

A Police Constable and a Civil Defence Force member were killed in a claymore attack yesterday morning in the Weerachcholai area in Sammanthurai.

Police spokesman SSP Ranjith Gunasekera said the LTTE triggered off a claymore mine targeting a police route clearing operation around 8.30 a.m. in Sammanthurai.

"A PC and a CDF member were killed in the explosion," he added.
