Illicit liquor cases net over Rs. 2 lakhs

Weliweriya Police has collected over Rs. two lakhs as fines from illicit liquor cases filed at the Gampaha Magistrate's Courts in November, OIC Weliweriya Police, CIP, Roshan Rajapakse said.

Meanwhile, Gampaha Additional Magistrate M. Eshardeen fined two suspects Rs. 2,000 each for having 2,200 milligrams of Ganja.

The suspects were J. P. Sunil Premasiri and J. M. Mahinda, both of Kurunegala.
